Want to welcome your teachers back with something they’ll truly appreciate? Show up with something that’s not on their standard supply list.

Back to School season is a holiday around Alpaca - we love it all, from the backpacks to the fresh pencils to a crisp new planner. And because we get to talk to teachers a lot, we know about a few things that you won’t find on their request list, but WILL make them really feel like the extraordinary professionals they are. Here they are:

  1. A pack of really nice pens, in a variety of colors. Try Ink Joys, Le Pens, Fine point Sharpies, or Staedtlers.
  2. Note cards or oversized sticky notes. Teachers send a LOT of notes home and quality note cards and Post-Its (the real Post-Its, for sure)  are super helpful.
  3. A reusable lunch container. We sent silicon lunch dishes to teachers last year and they were one of their  most favorite items of the year. (Check them out!)
  4. A nutritious, easy snack. Having a little nourishment on-hand can be a lifesaver on busy days. Tuck a box of microwave popcorn and some single serve tea or drink packets (ex: Propel single-serve packets) into those classroom supplies!
  5. A handwritten note. This is the top item in our packs that we get feedback from teachers about. “When parents take time to handwrite a note, we know that we’re a team, together.” 5 minutes goes a long way!

When your teachers have the tools they love most, they can do their best work. And that is worth celebrating.
